GROOMING TERMS OF SERVICE
Below please find our terms of service. We ask that if you have any questions to let us know and we will do our very best to answer them.

Fleas/Mites We do not accept pets with fleas or mites and do not carry treatments due to potential health risks. Please see a vet for treatment if your pet has fleas or mites.

Pet Illness If your pet is ill, please reschedule your appointment to prevent spreading the illness to other clients. We will gladly find a new time that works for you when you call to let us know.

Missed Appointments When you make an appointment, we reserve that time exclusively for you. If you don't give us notice and don't show up, we can't fill that spot, resulting in lost wages. Therefore, if you no-call, no-show, we will require a nonrefundable prepayment for your next appointment.

Severely Matted Pets Matted rabbits may have pre-existing conditions that become uncovered when the matted coat is removed. When we encounter a severely matted pet, we take photos and videos before, during, and after the grooming process to document the pet's condition and note any issues uncovered.

The procedure to remove mats, commonly referred to as stripping or shaving down, may expose:

  • Hotspots

  • Extreme skin flakiness

  • Cuts in the skin, often due to tight mats or embedded debris.

Shaving or stripping is only performed with your consent and is necessary when de-matting is too painful for the pet or beyond your budget. Matted coats can cause various issues, such as overheating, hotspots, dirty/flaky skin, and hidden parasites like fleas or ticks, which can further irritate the skin and cause anemia.

While we take all necessary precautions and use soothing shampoos, your pet's skin may still become irritated or nicked during the process. Furry Tails is not responsible for any issues that arise from severe matting, including skin irritations, hematomas, nicks, cuts, or other health problems. Any vet expenses incurred are the owner's responsibility.

For matting that can be brushed out but takes over 30 minutes, we charge a $25 per half-hour de-matting fee.

Payment Payment is due when services are rendered.

Senior Pets / Pets with medical issues Grooming Liability Release

Grooming can cause stress that may exacerbate or expose new problems and, in rare cases, lead to serious medical events or death. We require a liability release for any issues that may occur, especially if your pet is a senior or has medical or behavioral issues. The pet owner is solely responsible for any and all medical bills related to their pet and gives permission to Premier Critter Sitter LLC to seek veterinary care at the nearest vet in case of emergency.

Premier Critter Sitter LLC prioritizes your pet's safety and well-being. If we determine that grooming is too stressful for your pet, we will stop immediately and contact you to pick up your pet. Payment for services rendered will still be required.
